Telemetry

VRCT collects anonymous usage statistics to help improve the application. This page explains what data is collected, how you can control it, and the privacy guarantees we provide.

Overview​

Telemetry helps us understand how VRCT is used and identify areas for improvement. All data collection is:

  • Anonymous: No personal identification information
  • Privacy-focused: No sensitive data is ever collected
  • User-controlled: You can disable it at any time
  • Transparent: See exactly what's collected below

What Data is Collected?​

VRCT tracks the following events only:

What Data is NOT Collected​

We never collect:

  • ❌ Personal identification data (usernames, IDs, device serials)
  • ❌ Message content or input text
  • ❌ Voice audio data
  • ❌ UI state (window position, minimized status)
  • ❌ System information (hardware specs, OS details)
  • ❌ File paths or document names

Data Transmission​

  • Service: Aptabase
  • Protocol: HTTPS (encrypted)
  • Retention: Limited by Aptabase policy
  • Access: Only VRCT developers can view analytics dashboard

Your Privacy Rights​

  • You control whether telemetry is enabled
  • You can disable it at any time without penalty
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties
  • Data is stored securely by Aptabase
